Universal Orlando First Visit: Your Magical Planning Guide

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Ripley here, scurrying through the cobblestone streets of Diagon Alley where a fire-breathing dragon guards Gringotts Bank. If you are planning your first trip to Universal Orlando, I have the scoop to help you move through the parks with ease.

Ticket Tips and Early Entry

Buy your tickets online before you arrive. A park-to-park ticket is a must if you want to ride the Hogwarts Express between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. If you stay at a Universal Orlando Resort hotel, you can enter the parks before the general public with Early Park Admission.

Strategy for Shorter Wait Times

Download the Universal Orlando Resort App to check wait times and order food. Arrive at the gates 45 minutes before opening. Head straight for Jurassic World VelociCoaster or Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at rope drop. If your group is willing to split up, use the single rider lines to save time.

Exploring the Wizarding World

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is split into two lands. Visit Diagon Alley in Universal Studios first thing in the morning or late in the evening. In Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, try the Butterbeer. It comes cold, frozen, or hot, and it is a delightful treat.

Where to Eat

For a quick bite, stop by The TODAY Cafe. If you want a full meal in a unique setting, try Mythos Restaurant in Islands of Adventure. Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade is another excellent choice for a themed meal. Take breaks in the shade to stay energized.
